Hulu has appointed Tim Connolly its new head of distribution, the online streamer announced Monday.
Connolly joins Hulu from Disney, where he was vp digital video distribution and new product development. At Disney, he led digital product distribution for ESPN, ABC, ABC Family and Disney channels and helped advance the company’s TV Everywhere initiative.
“Finding ways to penetrate new distribution channels is key to our future growth,” Hulu CEO Mike Hopkins wrote in a blog post. “Tim’s wealth of experience and passion for Hulu will be instrumental as we continue to grow our subscriber base and roll out Hulu Plus across even more devices and with more distribution partners.”
Hopkins has been on a hiring frenzy. He announced in February the appointments of Tian Lim as CTO and NBC veteran Peter Naylor as senior vp sales and hired Disney executive Elaine Paul as CFO in October.
