Lauren Zalaznick has begun building her new digital-centric team at NBCUniversal.

Weeks after a restructuring at the conglom saw her relinquish the cable assets in her portfolio, Zalaznick has lured Lori Conkling from A&E Networks, where she executive VP of distribution. Conkling was at A&E for the past five years, with previous stints at Disney and Accenture.

Conkling will serve as executive VP of strategy and business development, helping Zalaznick drive innovation across platforms in her own new role as executive VP at NBCU. Conkling will be charged with assessing NBCU’s content windowing strategies, with concentrations on both advanced advertising and mobile.

“She brings high level, macro thinking and a deep understanding of today’s consumer and customer landscape,” said Zalaznick.

Zalaznick’s portfolio includes NBCU-owned digital properties Fandango, iVillage and Daily Candy. TV assets previously in her portfolio including Bravo and Oxygen were consolidated in an all-cable suite under Bonnie Hammer.
