CBS extends deal with Amazon Prime

More Eye and Showtime series now available on streaming service

CBS has expanded its non-exclusive programming deal with Amazon Prime, allowing for more Eye series to be viewed on the streaming service.

Under the new agreement, such past CBS series as “Everybody Loves Raymond,” “Jericho” and “Undercover Boss” will be available on Amazon’s Prime Instant Video service. Many series from Showtime, part of CBS Corp., will also be available, including “United States of Tara” and “The L Word.”

Extension comes off an earlier deal CBS and Amazon signed in July 2011, which Barclays estimated ran for 18 months and was valued at $80 million.

“CBS was one of our earliest content partners for Prime Instant Video, and our Prime customers have consistently told us how much they love having access to great CBS and Showtime shows,” said Brad Beale, director of digital video content acquisition for Amazon. “Adding a wider selection of great TV series, while extending our already popular selection of CBS programming, continues to make Prime an even better deal for customers.”
