BermanBraun’s digital division is expanding aggressively into original video content for the Web, starting with a “Daily Show”-esque news roundup series that bows today on the company’s popular Wonderwall celeb news website.

In the show, dubbed “7 Wonders of the Wall,” host Brian McFayden (“Beauty and the Geek”) will run down the seven most popular stories of the day on Wonderwall. Each episode will run about five minutes in total, with a new seg bowing Monday-Friday at about noon PT.

Viewers will be encouraged to vote and comment on their favorite “wonder,” and then once a week, a special “eighth wonder” segment will be posted on Wonderwall’s Facebook page. The series has lined up Chevy Cruze as its sole presenting sponsor.

BermanBraun has been focused on ramping up the amount of original video content on its growing portfolio of websites for some time. The company recently built out a full-service studio production and editing facility at its Santa Monica offices. It has two more Web series now in production, with several others in various stages of development, according to BermanBraun digital topper Paco Vinoly.

“We’re now ready to produce a strong lineup of shows,” Vinoly said. “We know that there is a certain part of the content that we offer on our sites that would be more enjoyable for our audience if we had strong video content. There is huge demand for it from the audience and from advertisers.”
