TORONTO — Sony has launched its Qriocity streaming video service in Canada.
Becoming the latest VOD content entrant here, the Canadian service features Hollywood film titles from NBC Universal Television Distribution, Paramount Pictures, Sony Pictures Home Entertainment, The Walt Disney Studios, Twentieth Century Fox Home Entertainment and Warner Bros. Digital Distribution.
HD film titles will rent from $4.99 to $5.99, while standard definition content rentals range from $3.99 to $4.99 per film.
The Canadian roll-out of Qriocity follows a Jan. 26 launch in Japan, and an earlier introduction in the U.S., France, Germany, Italy, Spain and the U.K.
