Online video technology firm Move Networks said that in October more than 6 million people watched long-form video online that relied on the Move player and technology. That figure comes from aggregate data for Move customers including ABC, Discovery, Fox, ESPN360.com and The CW, Move said.
In November, more than 100,000 new viewers are watching long-form video each day using Move, the company said. The average session length is more than 50 minutes.
Since March 2007, Move has streamed almost 50 million hours of television.
The release of these figures marks the first time Move has shared detailed usage data. The company said it released the stats to underscore its belief that consumers will watch more video online if the experience is better.
