Seeso, the subscription-streaming comedy channel from NBCUniversal Digital Enterprises, is now available on connected-TV devices from Roku and Amazon.

The service, which costs $3.99 per month, includes more than 2,000 hours of original and licensed content. Launched to the public in January, Seeso was previously available only on the Web, and for Apple iOS and Google Android devices.

NBCU has not disclosed how many subscribers it has signed up so far for Seeso — but it’s clearly hoping that access to the content on big-screen HDTVs will help move the needle. Seeso is the first of several over-the-top channels the Peacock plans to launch under NBCU Digital Enterprises chief Evan Shapiro.

Seeso original series include “The UCB Show,” featuring Upright Citizens Brigade troupe founders Amy Poehler, Matt Walsh, Ian Roberts and Matt Besser; “Sammy J & Randy in Ricketts Lane” and “The Cyanide & Happiness Show.”

In addition, the subscription VOD service offers complete collections of NBC late-night shows “The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon,” “Late Night With Seth Meyers” and “Saturday Night Live,” including new episodes of each show available next day. Licensed content includes TV shows like “Monty Python’s Flying Circus,” “The Kids in the Hall,” “30 Rock,” “Parks and Recreation” and the U.S. and U.K. versions of the “The Office” as well as British comedies including “The IT Crowd,” “The Mighty Boosh” and “Fawlty Towers.”

Roku customers in the U.S. who use the guest sign in can view Seeso Now, a handpicked comedy playlist, which includes recent show clips from “Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon,” “Late Night With Seth Meyers” and “SNL.” In addition, the first episodes of all Seeso original series are available to stream for users who register with an email address.

Amazon Fire TV first launched in 2014, and last fall the ecommerce giant rolled out the next generation of Fire TV devices. The new Fire TV supports for 4K Ultra HD, and the new Fire TV Stick supports voice-enabled search.
