Snapchat just made it easier for users to find clips their peers shot of a news event: A new feature dubbed “Story Explorer” makes it possible to find additional footage around the clips that Snapchat‘s team has curated for one of the service’s stories.

For example, Snapchat’s curators may select a clip of a basketball game, but many other users may have shot clips of the same game from different angles. Users can now explore these additional clips by swiping up. Snapchat announced the new feature on its blog Monday, and demonstrated it with a short video:

Story Explorer is first being launched for Live Stories in Los Angeles and New York, but is slated to come to other markets soon.

Snapchat has been making huge inroads into mobile video viewing in recent months, reaching a milestone of four billion daily video views in September. Making additional clips of popular events easily accessible is likely going to further drive up those views.

However, the Los Angeles-based startup is clearly still figuring out what its users actually want to watch: In October, Snapchat scrapped its original content initiative, disbanding a team of 15 that was responsible for short originals distributed through the company’s Snap Channel on Snapchat Discover.
