Teen-focused digital media company AwesomenessTV is coming to at least five overseas markets under a multiyear deal with Endemol Shine Group.

Per the pact, Endemol Shine’s Endemol Beyond digital unit will launch local-language, owned-and-operated AwesomenessTV channels in key markets outside the U.S., including the U.K., France, Germany, Spain and Brazil. Programming will encompass ATV’s popular digital video formats as well as AwesomenessTV franchises such as docu-reality series “Cheerleaders” (pictured above), following the California All Stars coed cheerleading squad from Ventura, and “IMO,” an interview-based show for girls.

In another foray outside the States, AwesomenessTV this summer inked a deal with DHX Media to license, develop and produce original shows for DHX’s Family Channel in Canada. DHX also will distribute the programming and handle merchandising and licensing outside the U.S. for ATV, which is majority-owned by DreamWorks Animation.

Endemol Beyond will support existing talent on the AwesomenessTV network, as well as develop new talent and vertical categories. The companies said original content created under the agreement will include long-form AwesomenessTV series, like ATV’s sketch-comedy series that ran on Nickelodeon U.S., and formats for both digital video and TV distribution.

“AwesomenessTV and Endemol Shine Group are ideally matched as two creatively driven companies with fast-growing digital networks that break the mold of the traditional MCN,” George Ramme, Endemol Beyond managing director of international, said in announcing the deal.

Launched in late 2013, Endemol Beyond has local hubs in the U.S., U.K., Germany, France, Italy, the Netherlands and Spain as well as in Asia, Latin America and Central and Eastern Europe. The digital unit has been most active in the U.S., with Endemol Beyond USA signing deals with talent including Pitbull, YouTube stars Michelle Phan and KSI, and Drea De Matteo.
