Hulu has inked a deal for the exclusive streaming rights to cult comedy Party Down.
Beginning Aug. 29, the streamer’s premium service, Hulu Plus, will make the entire Starz series available to subscribers. The first five episodes of the show will be free for non-subscribers for a limited time.
Party Down‘s two seasons ran from 2009 to 2010 on Starz before its cancelation. It eventually found its way to Netflix, where it gained a cult following, but is no longer available on the streamer.
The show, created by Veronica Mars‘ Rob Thomas, stars Adam Scott, Lizzy Caplan, Ken Marino, Jane Lynch, Ryan Hansen, Martin Starr and Megan Mullally as a group of Hollywood wannabes who work for a Los Angeles catering company.
Though the series was short lived, its actors have gone on to successful television careers. Scott starred on NBC’s Parks and Recreation, Caplan is the lead on Showtime’s Masters of Sex, Lynch has made a name for herself as coach Sue Sylvester on Fox’s Glee, Marino recently starred on the NBC comedy Marry Me, Hansen acted in the short-lived CBS comedy Bad Teacher and Starr plays one of the techies in HBO’s Silicon Valley.
In 2012, Mullally told television critics that a movie was in the works, though one has yet to be released.
