Digital music-video company Vevo is embarking on its first weekly TV production with Latino cabler NuvoTV and Jennifer Lopez for an original series about music and pop culture dubbed “The Collective, Powered by Vevo.”

“The Collective,” to premiere March 6 at 8 p.m. Eastern / 5 p.m. Pacific on NuvoTV, is a one-hour variety show featuring DJs and celebrity tastemakers offering music picks and covering trends in music, fashion, live events, viral videos and more. Following the TV air, each weekly episode will be available exclusively on Vevo.com and across Vevo’s free apps for smartphones, tablets and TVs.

The series, part of NuvoTV’s spring programming slate, is co-executive produced by Lopez, who has partnered with the cable channel as its chief creative officer, under her Nuyorican Productions banner.

“When it comes to music videos, Vevo has become the world’s gold standard making them the perfect partner for NuvoTV as we expand our original entertainment offerings in the music space,” NuvoTV exec VP of programming Bill Hilary said in announcing the deal.

Vevo, the biggest single supplier of content to YouTube, generates 5 billion monthly views globally across YouTube, Vevo.com and its apps. The company offers a library of 75,000 music videos, plus original programming and live concert performances.
