The Jim Henson Co. announced Wednesday that it will partner with Base79, the largest international YouTube-based multichannel network, with the goal of bringing shows like “Pajanimals,” “Sid the Science Kid” and “Fraggle Rock” to a global audience via the online platform.

Base79 plans to use its proprietary technology and industry expertise to increase Jim Henson Family TV’s YouTube presence and develop a larger audience for its programming. The company’s recently-established Los Angeles office, led by exec Ben Lister, will handle rights management and advertising sales.

With this latest partnership, the Jim Henson Co. joins several other companies including The Associated Press, Guinness World Records, Zodiak Entertainment, Hat Trick Prods. and Magic Light Pictures who have already joined forces with Base79.

The Chernin Group took a stake in Base79 in 2012.
