Tonido Cloud Users to Stream from PCs to HDTVs via Google Chromecast

Updates to iOS and Android Mobile Apps Will Let Users Stream Video and Music Stored on their PC Directly to their HDTV Using Google's New Device

AUSTIN, Texas, August 6, 2013 – CodeLathe, the leader in personal cloud products and services, announced today that its Tonido personal cloud service will soon let individuals stream music and videos from their PCs (Windows, Macintosh and Linux) to TV sets via Google Chromecast, the new streaming attachment for HDTVs.

"Continuing our mission to provide broad support for all popular devices on the market, we have made it possible to stream videos and music stored on any computer running Tonido," said Anis Abdul, CTO of CodeLathe. "There will no longer be a need to carry around a laptop or external hard drive-wherever there's a Chromecast, Tonido users will have full access to their video and music libraries."

Tonido offers users secure access to their home computer's entire collection of documents, photos, music and videos from anywhere without having to upload it to a public cloud service. Individuals begin by downloading the free Tonido server app on their desktop and the free mobile app onto their iOS or Android device. Users can access their files via Wi-Fi or 3G mobile networks, backup their photos and videos from their iOS or Android device to their Tonido personal cloud and download files for offline viewing.

Tonido's Chromecast integration currently supports the video (H.264) and audio formats (MP3 and AAC) supported by the Chromecast device. Tonido also supports the optimization of wide range of video and audio formats including MKV and FLAC to enable media playback by Chromecast.

The improved Chromecast-compatible API will provide the following technical features:

● Automatic, multi-format live video transcoding and http live streaming (including MOV, MP4, M4V, MPG, MPEG, AVI, VOB, MKV, WMV, XVID, FLV, SWF, OGG, GP3, MTS, M2TS). Requires no manual conversion of video files for playback.

● Automatic multi-format music streaming and playlist support (including FLAC, OGG, WMA, MP3 and more).

● Tonido companion server apps available for all computer platforms: Windows, Mac OSX and Linux.

● Plug-and-Play remote access. No fiddling with router settings.

● Easy to remember web URL access to a personal computer.
