Amazon’s Lovefilm Signs Content Deal With CBS Studios

Deal sees Lovefilm stream Showtime series

LONDON — Amazon-owned video streaming service LoveFilm has inked a multi-year licensing deal with CBS Studios International to stream TV programs from CBS’ Showtime network.

Shows such as “The Good Wife,” “Blue Bloods,” “Nurse Jackie,” “Californication” and “Dexter” will all be available to the service’s U.K. and German members.

Additionally, the deal will see the original 1960s “Star Trek Voyager” series become available to stream on-demand.

Simon Morris, chief marketing officer at LoveFilm, said: “We’re thrilled to announce this latest deal with CBS Studios Int., and bring another great selection of hit U.S. TV shows to our members.”

CBS Global Distribution Group CEO and prexy Armando Nunez added: “We’re excited to partner with LoveFilm and their terrific subscription service on an agreement that will bring their U.K. and German subscribers a range of CBS content that audiences around the world are very passionate about.”

This latest deal adds to LoveFilm’s U.S. television content following the recent exclusive addition of AMC’s “The Walking Dead.”

LoveFilm has more than 2 million members in Blighty and Germany and is available on more than 280 internet-enabled devices including PC and Mac, Nintendo Wii U and Wii, Xbox 360, Playstation 3, Kindle Fire and Kindle Fire HD and iPad, including a growing number of Blu-ray players and internet-connected TVs.
