AT&T To Bring Original Content From Fullscreen’s SVOD Service To Traditional TV

AT&T, which, alongside the Chernin Group, purchased a majority stake in leading digital network Fullscreen back in 2014, is now slated to bring some of the network’s exclusive streaming content to traditional television.

On the Audience Network, a channel owned by AT&T’s DirecTV division, AT&T will launch Snack On Fullscreen — weekly and daily programming blocks featuring full episodes of Fullscreen’s premium content and scripted originals. Snack On Fullscreen will also be available to AT&T U-verse TV customers. Previously, this content was only available to subscribers of fullscreen — the company’s recently-launched SVOD service, which is priced at $4.99 per month.

Beginning this Saturday, a weekly one-hour Snack On Fullscreen block will commence at noon, while shorter segments — between eight and 10 minutes each — will air on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday afternoons, AT&T said. These shorter blocks will serve to highlight Fullscreen’s digital personalities.

Initial programming is slated to include: Jack & Dean Of All Trades, starring the British YouTube duo taking on a variety of temp jobs; dance drama Making Moves; Veitch 101, in which the British comedian James Veitch skewers modern technology; dating app docu-series Single + Swiping; and Chad Future TV, in which the K-Pop-influenced American musician ventures to South Korea. Additional programming will be announced in coming months, AT&T said.

“It’s a natural extension of our work with Fullscreen,” said David Christopher, CMO of AT&T Entertainment Group, in a statement, “and we’re excited to bring the worlds of mobile video and premium TV entertainment together for our customers.”

Several months after its launch, fullscreen looks to be off to a booming start. The iOS app is currently number three on the Top Charts in the Entertainment category, according to Fullscreen founder and CEO George Strompolos. It is also the top 40th app overall.
