Sky has launched a promotion documenting the major disruptions in television hinting that it will be behind the next big change.

The promotion counts down from 1929 to present day. It implies a massive announcement from the firm, with speculation emerging it is in actual fact Sky's next set top box, called SkyQ.

Sky is likely to unveil a revamped VoD interface and 4K streaming upon the announcement.

The campaign is also support with a social media campaign spearheaded with the #SetTVFree hashtag and a hub of the same name.
