Vice Media announced Monday that it has launched its first female-focused digital channel, Broadly. The Hollywood Reporter revealed exclusively in February that Vice would launch the women-centric online vertical.
The digital channel, Vice’s 11th, features editorial content and video covering politics, culture, sex and fashion. The channel launches with several new series, including the fashion-focused Style and Error, which THR noted would be part of Broadly’s lineup. Other series include Ovary Action, covering the latest on reproductive health, and interview show Broadly Meets.
The channel will also feature in-depth profiles, dedicated columnists and daily editorial features, with Jezebel alum Tracie Egan Morrissey serving as editor-in-chief and director of content. Shanon Kelley is Broadly’s publisher. In terms of editorial content, Broadly launches with an investigation into the attacks against Planned Parenthood, a history of the fedora and, coming at 4:20 p.m., a daily marijuana column.
Upcoming series and documentaries include Gangs, which explores how women all over the world band together over common interests, and Samburu: Land of No Men, a full-length documentary about a female tribe in Kenya that was formed after local women were abandoned by their community.
Vice has presented itself as an unconventional news outlet for men, making the launch of Broadly part of a new strategy to appeal to women as well.

“New media has been a game-changer for feminism — its appeal is palpable. We can no longer be told that it’s not relevant or that we’re just imagining things,” Morrissey said in a statement. “And so now is the time to elevate the coverage of women’s interests by telling the stories that matter to us through in-depth, original reporting and documentary video. We aren’t going to hold our breath and wait for mainstream outlets to meet our expectations. We’re just going to do it ourselves.”
Kelley added: “The same principals Vice applies to its storytelling will also apply to everything Broadly will do — we’re telling original stories you can’t find anywhere else, in the same voice and tone as that of our audience. Building Broadly from the ground up with Tracie and our amazing team, along with the complete support of everyone at Vice has been an absolutely amazing experience. I can’t wait for the world to see Broadly.”
The channel is currently available in the U.S., U.K. and Canada.
