BT has confirmed it is adding Netflix to its TV proposition.
Customers will be able to subscribe to the streaming service on top of BT’s existing product portfolio and pay through Netflix as part of their regular bill.
BT TV added another 38,000 subscribers in the quarter to September 30, 2014. It takes the installed base for the hybrid IPTV/DTT service to 1,045,000, including YouView homes.
Television contributed to a 17% rise in broadband and TV revenue – calls and lines grew by 1%.
The telco does not separate out the number of subscribers to the ‘freemium’ BT Sport, but said it reached a peak audience of 1.25m for the opening Premier League fixture between Manchester United and Swansea City.
