Ian Blaine, co-founder of Comcast‘s white-label video subsidiary thePlatform, will step down as CEO effective June 20 to become a strategic adviser to the company, thePlatform announced.

The Comcast division promoted two execs of thePlatform as co-CEOs to take his place: Marty Roberts, previously head of sales and marketing, and Jamie Miller, formerly COO and CFO.

“Marty and Jamie are exceptional leaders, with the proven background, vision and passion to guide thePlatform into the future,” Sam Schwartz, chief business development officer of Comcast Cable, said in a statement.

Comcast acquired Seattle-based thePlatform in 2006. This March, the cable giant bought online-ad platform FreeWheel in a deal worth up to $375 million. For now, Comcast has no plans to combine the two digital-video entities under one roof.

In a statement provided by Comcast, Blaine said: “I’m making this transition now because I can do so on a high note, and with the confidence that the company will continue its success under the leadership of Marty and Jamie.”

Roberts, formerly SVP of worldwide sales and marketing, will now also be responsible for engineering and technology divisions; Miller will add to his COO and CFO duties oversight of Europe and Middle East operations.

Clients of thePlatform include Comcast itself, as well as A+E Networks, Cablevision, Cox, E!, Fox Sports, Liberty Global, Time Warner Cable and Travel Channel Media.
