My Damn Channel will bow David Hunt’s web series Versailles May 9 with new episodes premiering Mondays on the site.
Pronounced “Ver-sayles,” the comedy follows a brother and sister as they mount a public access talk show from the basement of the local library.
Hunt will play the brother with Eve Gordon as his sister. The damaged duo’s scheme is actually a desperate attempt to live out their fantasies and escape the legacy of their dearly departed mother, a TV star and B-movie actress. Patricia Heaton, star of ABC’s The Middle and Hunt’s wife, will play the mother. Fred Willard and Martha MacIsaac also star, and William H. Macy will make cameo appearances.
Hunt and Heaton will produce the series via their FourBoys shingle. It’s Heaton’s first web series. Hunt is no stranger to web-based comedy. He has appeared in Funny or Die shorts and even considers himself a pioneer in the genre having played “a Satan character” in the web series Resurrection High for now-defunct D.E.N. more than 10 years ago. “It was ahead of its time,” wrote Hunt in an email.
“This series is one of those twisted comedies that you just can’t stop watching,” Robert Barnett, My Damn Channel founder/CEO, said in a statement.
My Damn Channel has ordered eight episodes of Versailles.
A trailer for the series is available now at: www.MyDamnChannel.com/Versailles.
